Hollywoodlife has shared fifteen shots from the season finale Graduation airing May, 16. Be sure to view the fifteen shots HERE
Graduation is always a bittersweet occasion, but it looks like The Vampire Diaries‘ version will be heavy on the bitter and light on the sweet. A collection of just-released stills from the May 16 season finale reveal Elena (Nina Dobrev) in dire straights, as she appears to face an army of witches, possibly attempting to turn her humanity back on. On the bright side, at least she gets to spend her final hours of insanity with a shirtless Damon (Ian Somerhalder).
It also looks like the gang’s actual graduation will be the calm before the storm, as Elena is seen getting smiley with her Mystic Falls pals — even notorious sour-puss Bonnie (Kat Graham).
I could write a lot about the future of Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline (Candice Accola) — and I will — but the pictures of the pair from the finale say more than words ever could. The shots of Klaus holding a graduation cap, then sharing an emotional goodbye with Caroline, guarantee that ‘Klaroline’ fans will be weepy messes by the time the hour is over.
I count myself among the many viewers who have enjoyed watching Matt (Zach Roerig) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) grow closer this season, but even I know that with Becky heading to The Originals, their love simply cannot last. But I am glad to see they’ll be spending some quality time together on the finale, even if they do have to “join forces to battle a ghost determined to find the cure.”

The photo above is our first look at the season finale 4×23: Graduation. TV Guide sat down with Executive Producer Julie Plec to talk about Elena. Is her humanity coming back? Continue reading;
“We have a lot of questions on the table about Elena,” Julie Plec tells us. “Is she stuck this way forever? Is she ever going to turn her humanity back on? If she does, will the sire bond be back in effect or gone? If it’s gone, what are her feelings for Damon vs. her feelings for Stefan? The whole season has been trying to get Elena back to who she was, so everything will be answered in the finale.”

TVLine has shared an exlusive sneak peak of the upcoming May 2nd episode She’s Come Undone featuring a heated moment between Klaus and Caroline;
The Vampire Diaries‘ Klaus and Caroline have formed a twisted friendship as of late — but what comes next? TVLine has an exclusive first look at an upcoming scene between the two, and it appears that a big, confrontational turn in their relationship is ahead.
On the May 2 episode (The CW, 8/7c), the blonde vamp has a “confusing and dangerous encounter” with the Original, the official episode description says. Is Caroline confused about her feelings for Klaus? And does the below photo look “dangerous” as in violent, or on the cusp of a passionate moment?

EW.com shared some exclusive episode stills of the 20th episode of the fourth season. This episode The Orginals also serves as a backdoor pilot. Be sure to check the stills out here
In the April 25 episode of The Vampire Diaries, which serves as a backdoor pilot to a New Orleans-set Originals spinoff, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) gets word that witches in The Big Easy are conspiring against him. He returns to the city that his family helped build — and then fled about 100 years ago — to explore the threat. Elijah (Daniel Gillies) follows. ”His interest in Klaus for 1,000 years has been how to dig deep past Klaus’ ego and paranoia, and all the things that have made Klaus such a vicious person over the years — he’s always searching for some form of redemption for his brother,” says executive producer Julie Plec. ”What he sees in New Orleans, and what he finds out in the context of a place where they were once happy as a family, is an opportunity to rebuild that with Klaus and with Rebekah and put the broken bits of the Original family back together.”
Pictured is the final scene between the brothers. ”It’s a beautiful, simple scene where they talk about their potential future in the town,” Morgan says. ”After all of the confrontations and all of the history, it’s really nice to have a simple scene just about two brothers.”
